Photoshop

Today I worked further on Photoshop, I started to work on my inside and my magazine advert. For my inside I took the arm and put them all over the place to make them look like they had been thrown all over the place. And then I made the middle one red so it stood out and you could clearly see what they were. During this I use the gradient fill and free transform. After this I worked on my magazine advert. I copied the glasses and the writing from my DVD cover. I then used a different font to write the date and 'out now'. I then used the drawing tool to create stars.

Plans

Photoshop

Today I was experimenting further with Photoshop. I started by using the quick selection tool to cut around the sunglasses arm. Once the background had gone, i then used the paint bucket tool to fill the arm in - i chose to use a bright green. To begin with, i wanted to use bright green sun glasses but i couldn't get them so i used a white pair and then coloured them in green. Once i had put the green on the glasses i then positioned it coming off the page to look like i had lots of sun glasses being wore just off the page. To get them in the correct position i used the free transform tool. Overall, i think it was a successful lesson however i achieved more in other lessons as i took a while deciding where i wanted them to go.

DVD Cover

After finishing the Music Video, we have to complete some extra tasks which include creating a DVD cover containing four panes and a magazine advert. As my genre is synth pop I decided to make sure my singer was featured in both these tasks. I decided to make sure they all linked in with each other as well as the video. I took the singer and Lego man from my video and played around with them to create my cover. I decided I wanted to add in sun glasses as this is a recognisable item within my chosen genre. I then decided to have the glasses as the main link between the two tasks. I chose to have green glasses against a black background so they stand out. Also the green fits in with the Music Video because of the background. I then wanted to have the two items from my music video in the glasses with a low opacity to make them blend in. However, I want to make sure they are seen.

Planning

Before starting to create the tasks that need to run by the music video, we planned out on paper exactly what we wanted the photoshop documents to look like. I decided to take the colours from my music video and the star. I also took the idea of the lego. My main theme was sunglasses which was seen in each part of the work, even though this was not shown in my video, it is popular with my genre.
